Why Katy Christian Magazine and Fort Bend Christian Magazine are Endorsing Kenneth Omoruyi for U.S. Congress, Texas CD-7

During the 2022 primaries and the general election, I served as the campaign manager for the Johnny Teague for Congress Campaign to try and unseat Democrat Lizzie Fletcher.

Over the span of that year, I learned much more than I already knew about the inside game of national politics. I’d crafted and published a Christian Voter’s Guide since 2006 for Harris County, and since 2014 for Fort Bend County; I thought I was well educated on the ins-and-outs of local and national politics. I was sadly mistaken.

Johnny Teague is a pastor, my pastor, in fact, and no one stands for biblical truths and values quite as adamantly as him. Teague felt it was the Lord’s calling for him to run. I believed so, too; never had I met a man who loves and fears God more than he. He is like a brother to me as we both strive to serve God in our daily walks of life, though him more than I.

He fervently loves the Israeli people and has written a bestseller, The Lost Diary of Anne Frank. It was pro-Jewish, and in 2021, Johnny Teague’s book was praised by Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) as a literary classic in the Jewish community.

For his work, Johnny Teague was honored with prestigious mention in the AJS honor roll of 2021, partly sponsored by the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature. The AJS, at 15 West 16th Street, New York City, is a Jewish organization and the largest literary body within the Jewish community.

Yet when Johnny ran against a Democrat [Lizzie Fletcher], they turned around and labeled him anti-Semitic over the same book that they praised him for a single a year earlier. Anything to help the Democrat Party, the same party which is sympathetic to Hamas, Hezbollah, and many other terrorist entities that have sworn to commit genocide to the entire Jewish race, both in Israel and worldwide.

I was also under the belief that once we won the primaries, we would easily be able to raise the necessary funds needed to run a competitive campaign. Afterall, Ballotpedia had labeled this race as the only flippable [local] seat in the 2022 elections. Again, I was wrong.

I reached out countless times by emails, letters, text messages and third-party intervention for help from the RNC, RNCC, The Freedom Caucus; I had contacted anyone and everyone I could to help fund Johnny’s race. I was met with complete and utter silence. Not one of these entities even bothered to respond. A simple “no” would have sufficed.

Thankfully, because of tireless efforts by Johnny and myself, we were able to raise a paltry $250,000 for his campaign. Still, this was less than a quarter of the minimal amount needed to stand a chance in competing against Lizzie Fletcher and the DNC.

In order to have a sliver of a chance in a U.S. Congressional campaign against a well-funded incumbent, you need a bare minimum amount of $1 million. Two million dollars is what’s really needed.

In the past, I’d committed the grave mistake of endorsing people whom I felt most closely mirrored the values of our readers, even helping many of these candidates win the primaries. These glimpses of hope were utterly crushed in the general elections.

You see, the best Christian doesn’t necessarily make the best candidate. Conversely, there are many Muslim candidates who fight for our values much more than so-called Christians or Catholics. Look no further than President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, FBC Judge KP George and FBC Sheriff Eric Fagan.

Biden and Pelosi support same sex marriages, abortion through the third trimester, and a litany of other anti-God, radical agenda issues, all while taking communion on Sunday morning. Does anyone other than me see the irony in that?

KP George and Fagan tow the same liberal line. Ideology before Christ. The ideology, to liberals, supersedes anything else in life. You’re a liberal first, and a Christian second. You will submit to that line of thinking, or they will find someone else to replace you.

Having said all of this, the only person who I feel can be effective in defeating Lizzie Fletcher is Kenneth Omoruyi for U.S. Congress, District 7. Omoruyi is a solid choice and a God-fearing Christian. Most importantly, he has the financial backing to run an effective campaign.

Omoruyi is a wonderful family man and is a member of Lindale Assembly of God, where Randy and Jana Meeks serve as senior pastors. While so many pastors have ignored or even embraced the cultural rot consuming our nation, these pastors have stood strong and unwavering.

Omoruyi, a resident of District 7, is also a CPA and Managing Partner of CKO CPAs and Advisors in Bellaire. Wouldn’t it be great to have someone other than an attorney seated in Washington, D.C.? Don’t we have enough of their kind presiding there, screwing up everything they touch? Who better to bring spending under control than a world-renowned and respected CPA like Omoruyi?

There is no moral and ethical compromise with Omoruyi. He is strong, persistent, and well financed. He is also a strong supporter of Israel, something God speaks of in His Word:

“Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed, And whoever curses Israel will be cursed.” Numbers 24:9

I know one of Omoruyi’s other opponents rather well. Her name is Caroline Kane. She is a member of Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce, where I am the co-founder, along with my partner, Erica Scardino. Kane is a wonderful person, Christian, and mother, and she would be a great candidate to take on Lizzie Fletcher if she were to win the primary. If she did, I would back her wholeheartedly.

She also feels called by God to run. I have no doubt that this is probably the case. But so did Johnny. Omoruyi feels this same calling. Does it mean that when God calls you to run for Congress, you’re certainly going to win? Did Johnny win? Sometimes, God calls us to do something out of obedience. Sometimes, it’s to introduce someone into your life.

Johnny and I have become great friends. Maybe the point of his calling was so that he and I could meet. You never know.

But at the same time, I have to be a realist too. Kenneth Omoruyi offers us the best hope to defeat Lizzie Fletcher in the 2024 elections for the reasons mentioned above.

No longer in good conscience will Katy Christian Magazine and Fort Bend Christian Magazine endorse people that we feel have little to no chance to win in the general election. But I maintain that with God, all things are possible.

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

While God sometimes intervenes with the supernatural, in cases like this, He usually works within the boundaries that He set and established.

With this, Katy Christian Magazine and Fort Bend Christian Magazine strongly supports and endorses Kenneth Omoruyi for U.S. Congress, District 7. We believe he is the best candidate for this position, and the only candidate who has the financial resources to mount an effective challenge against Lizzie Fletcher.
