Matt Morgan Announces Candidacy for Texas State Representative – District 26 Against Incumbent Jacey Jetton

Fort Bend County, TX – Matt Morgan today announced his candidacy for State Representative – District 26 in the March 5th, 2024, Primary.

“I am running to give the people of District 26 the leadership they deserve in Austin.  District 26 needs a representative who is accountable to the people in the district and who represents their interests in Austin,” said Morgan.

Matt’s Texas family roots date back nearly 200 years ago.  Matt’s ancestral family moved to Texas with Stephen F. Austin as part of the original 300 in 1825.  Stephen F. Austin is considered the founder of Texas as we know it today.

“I will work hard to make Texas better, safer, and stronger, and to protect our shared values of faith, family, and freedom.  District 26 has been impacted by many issues including education, runaway inflation, due process of law, teacher pay, out of control property taxes, election integrity, and border security.  It’s time to get to work to fix these issues,” said Morgan.

Matt graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville with a bachelor’s degree in business.  Receiving two separate job offers – one from an elite stock brokerage firm, and the other from a well-known insurance company – Matt chose the career that would allow him to help others when they experienced a loss. He began a career as an insurance adjuster.

Becoming an Eagle Scout taught Matt the importance of community service.  Matt’s community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for Lamar Little League, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, serving as a committee member for Cub Scout Pack 10 in Richmond, and collecting over 100,000 books for needy children for a literacy organization based in Houston.

“My great-grandparents, my mom, and my sister were all Texas educators.  Serving others is in my family’s DNA, and that makes me very proud,” said Morgan.

Matt is currently a public insurance adjuster; he is licensed in Texas, Georgia, and Colorado.  After years of working as an insurance adjuster for various well-known insurance companies, Matt decided he could better serve others if he only represented the policyholders.  In 2015, Matt launched Morgan Elite Specialist Services, LLC. Matt advocates for his clients who are the policyholders of various insurance companies and have suffered losses.

Matt is happily married to his wife Jessica. They have three children and reside in Pecan Grove.
