The mission of Champions Kids Camp is to nurture children who have survived a traumatic injury, illness, or personal loss, such as the loss of a parent or sibling.

Champions Kids Camp was founded in 2001 by Singer/Songwriters, Bill & Kim Nash, in honor of their oldest son, Billy, who survived childhood Leukemia. Through a week-long camp, children between the ages of 8 and 12 are able to heal from the “emotional scarring” they have experienced in their young lives.

​Over the years, CKC has helped thousands of children to move past their trauma, which gives them improved self-esteem & social skills, reduced fear and anxiety, higher grades in school, and the tools to become a productive part of our community.

The main objective at camp is to help instill a sense of pride in every child and let them know that they’re not victims, they’re survivors, and therefore, Champions! ​Champions Kids Camp is a non-profit organization.

In 2014 several Pastors and Community leaders recognized the need for family services in North Fort Bend County. As a result, a new organization named Family Hope was formed to be a place of compassion and transformation.

Today, Family Hope is the largest non-profit agency that serves our community with Food, Furniture, Education, Financial Assistance, and Special Events.

Our mission is to transform hurting people into healthy families through the hope of God. An example of those who benefit from Family Hope include a single mom who needs additional food to supplement her limited income. Others in our community may be affected by job loss, unexpected medical expenses, fires or floods, relocation, or perhaps elderly finding that social security benefits do not increase as quickly as prices.

Family Hope aims to always have food available so that all can eat. We collect used furniture in the neighborhoods and match with new mattresses to lift sleeping children off the floor. We enroll migrants into English classes. We provide tools for improvement including parenting and finance classes. We sponsor special events to make our community a special place, for example by giving new shoes to needy children for back-to-school, newborn clothing to new moms, presents for the holidays. We want all our residents to become healthy, contributing members of our community.

Family Hope is proud to bring our entire community together to make our community the best place to live and raise a family.

Many face the consequences of broken relationships, violence & abuse, are struggling with depression, anxiety, a life in turmoil and they’re battling it on their own because they don’t know what to do or how to fix their life. They feel trapped, alone, and have nowhere to turn for solutions. Shield Bearer provides professional licensed counseling and many resources to help them get the answers they need so they can heal and recover no matter their financial situation so they can get back on their feet and live the life they want to live.

The Taxpayers Coalition is a grassroots organization focused on financial transparency and accountability in local government.
