Leftist Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo Oversteps by Politicizing the Death of a 12-Year-Old While Ironically Urging Others Not To

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:3-5

BREAKING: HARRIS COUNTY, TX—Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo (D) is the hot seat among both sides of the ideological fence after making tasteless, politicized comments about the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray moments after urging political leaders to not politicize her death.

Nungaray was walking to a convenience store in Houston when she vanished, and the young girl was located dead in a creek earlier this month, police say.

Two undocumented Venezuelan immigrants are accused of murdering the girl. Both men face capital murder charges, according to the Houston Police Department.

“Evil happens regardless of immigration status,” Hidalgo said, encouraging political figures to not turn the child’s death into a political issue.

Then, Hidalgo launched a political attack against Republicans in Congress and former President Donald Trump for creating the environment which facilitated Nungaray’s tragic killing.

“When the former President decided that he didn’t want Biden to have a lid on immigration, he told his party to pull out of that agreement. So, blaming things on the current immigration policy is absolutely political, and it really breaks my heart that people would politicize the sadness of that tragedy,” Hidalgo said.

A FOX 26 reporter challenged Hidalgo’s criticism of the GOP and former President Trump, “asking if the blame she assessed was a violation of her own request to abstain from ‘politicizing’ the murder.”

“I think I answered the question,” Hidalgo said. She avoided further questions from the FOX 26 reporter.

“Again, the Biden administration reached an agreement with leader McConnell to address this. This is not about immigration. I’m not going to feed into that,” Hidalgo continued.

Hidalgo has announced that she intends to attend Nungaray’s funeral on Thursday, June 27.
