The Brand New “Katy Community Expo” Promises to be a One-of-a-Kind for Connecting Katy

The event has lots of children’s activities including a Lego Show and kids carnival indoors free to the public!

One of the most prominent epidemics in our society is social isolation, loneliness and lack of community. Disconnection from those around us causes serious hurt, acting on the same parts of the brain as physical wounds.

A brand new, free to the public event in Katy, TX might finally provide the cure people are searching for. Whether you’re looking to network with your neighbors, watch your children make new friends, or finally donate that bag in your trunk, the first ever Katy Community Expo, only four days away, is the one event you do not want to miss. Built by the hands of Katy residents, this revolutionary weekend function will bring together the community in unprecedented, fun and meaningful ways.

“The Katy Community Expo is an event designed for families and residents of the greater Katy area to connect and be ‘in the know’ about their community. Many of us reside in the Katy area but have little knowledge as to what is available to us in our own backyard,” said event coordinator Erica Scardino.

“We have items to donate, but we do not know where to take them. We want to volunteer, but we do not know where we are needed. We want to support local businesses, but do not know where they are or what they offer. The Katy Community Expo was created to close that gap and help all of us find our ‘go-to’ for all things Katy. We believe there is a way to do ‘town’ better, and that is together!”

The Katy Community Expo will be held this weekend on August 26-27 at the Katy Merrell Center. On Saturday, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The following are a select few of the dozens of exciting activities that the expo will facilitate.

Do not miss the first ever annual Katy Community Expo!

“I’m looking forward to the first annual Katy Community Expo coming this weekend. I love anything that has to do with our community. I love that they are accepting canned goods for our local food banks. Please come out and learn more about our community,” said Traci Miller, event leader.
