God…Our Greatest Hope and Our Greatest Threat

by Rick Scarborough

Now, more than ever, America needs the church to step up and provide the salt and light of the gospel to the myriad crises and challenges our nation faces. Some of these crises include rising crime, the invasion at our southern border, rising food prices, the indoctrination and sexual exploitation of our children, and the refusal of our government to allow oil companies to extract the needed the petroleum with which God blessed our nation so that we do not have to be dependent on evil foreign regimes, paying our enemies to plot our destruction.

Next Tuesday, we will be conducting a luncheon for pastors and faith leaders in Houston to pray for Ukraine and America. Senator Paul Bettencourt will join me as our special guest, giving an update from the Capitol in Austin. I will be presenting our program to facilitate Christian engagement in the important upcoming school board elections in May and the Fall Elections in November.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refers to his Ukraine’s war with Russia as the start of World War 3. As America and her NATO allies contribute more and more military aide, Russia is making threatening statements that are alarming, which is precisely why we are calling on pastors to pray and act. God is our greatest hope, but He is also our greatest threat if we do not submit and place our total dependency on Him during this time of great need.

Pastors, please join us and please forward the accompanying flyer to pastors who share our values and who believe in the power of prayer. For more information, email janet@recoveramerica.com

He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, spent a great deal of his childhood in Colorado, and lived in a couple of other states before he moved to Houston in 1981. In Joe’s words, our innate talents are given by the Lord, and are meant to be used to serve the Lord. Aside from being a President and Publisher, Joe Menslage is also the co-founder of Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce, where Christians can network, build business connections, listen to passionate speakers, and enjoy monthly breakfasts and lunches.
