Wesley Hunt Makes Statement on Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address

Wesley Hunt, Houston native, Army combat veteran, and GOP nominee for Texas’ 38th Congressional district, issued the following statement on Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

“State of the Union addresses are traditionally an opportunity for the President to address Congress and the nation on the state of our country.  Unsurprisingly, Joe Biden failed to do that, in large part because he ignored the painful realities that so many hard-working Americans are facing because of his catastrophic policies and failures. 

“President Biden should have leveled with the American people last night and addressed the many historic challenges we face.  Instead, he chose to ignore the endless historic crises he has created and pivoted to an alternate reality. 

“In this fantasy, Biden and his administration took responsibility for an economic recovery that never happened, took credit for bringing an end to a deadly pandemic that originated in China, and postured as a war-time president while failing to be present when it mattered most.

“The world is more dangerous than ever because of Joe Biden’s weakness and recklessness.  Afghanistan has been turned over to the Taliban.  Thirteen American servicemen are dead.  Iran is closer than ever to a nuclear weapon, which they’ve vowed to use against Israel and America.  North Korea is firing off missiles again.  China is growing their influence around the globe as they saber rattle against their neighbors and the west, and Vladimir Putin has invaded Ukraine and put the entire continent of Europe on the brink of nuclear war.

“At home, things have not looked this bleak in generations.  Inflation is at a 40-year high.  Middle class Americans haven’t suffered this much since 1982.  Our supply chain remains crunched, and because of his capitulation to the radical left and their Green New Deal agenda, Joe Biden has destroyed our energy independence in just one year.

“At a time when our nation and the world needs a steady hand and a projection of strength, Joe Biden stands as the living embodiment of weakness, and our country, as well as our enemies, can see it.”
