In support of the growing trend towards education at home, Texas Home Educators is planning its 9th annual Homeschool Family Expo for Houston and suburban areas, featuring dozens of homeschool exhibitors, live stage entertainment, a Student Commerce Fair, and homeschool speakers. The event takes place on Friday, March 4th, and Saturday, March 5th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Klein United Methodist Church, 5920 Farm to Market 2920, Spring, TX 77388.
The goal of the Homeschool Family Expo is to bring current and prospective homeschoolers together with products, services, classes, and programs that serve the needs of homeschooling families. We will also be offering homeschool workshops for special needs children, information on how to get started in homeschooling, and guidance in high school plans and transcripts.
“It has been a difficult two years for many moms across Houston. The number of moms who have chosen homeschooling is growing and we are here to partner with them to provide enhanced educational experiences,” said Jube Dankworth, President of Texas Home Educators and the new steward of Homeschool Family Expo. “Our annual event is one children enjoy attending as much as their parents. It’s packed with information and lots of fun!”
One speaker, author Melissa Glanowski, is a homeschool graduate working on her PhD, who will lead a talk called Bridging the Gap: How to build lasting relationships while learning about history, English, and community service.
Those attending the 9th Annual Homeschool Family Expo will find a wealth of information regarding local academic classes, extracurricular activities, and field trips for homeschoolers; options for sports; exhibitors offering everything from fine arts classes to dual credit college courses; a Student Commerce Fair of student-run “stores”; stage entertainment; concessions; and more. The Homeschool Family Expo is presented in part by Usborne Books & More, Extraordinary Education, Eden Hope, Little Stem Academy, Archway Christian Learning Center and other great sponsors. Families, students, and business sponsors interested in attending and/or participating in the Expo should visit HomeschoolFamilyExpo.com or call 713-851-0743.
