If you’ve missed the social scene, it’s about to pick back up again, and “Shootout on the Brazos” is celebrating in a big way.
George Strait’s son, Bubba Strait, will be performing at this fundraiser benefiting Military Warriors Support Foundation. The foundation awards payment-free vehicles to veterans wounded in direct combat with an enemy force, as well as unmarried Gold Star spouses whose loved ones were killed in action. In addition to the vehicle, recipients also receive one year of family and financial mentoring.
Lt. General Leroy Sisco, who co-founded the foundation, has teamed up with the elder Straight for 87 of these home giveaways, so it’s fitting that Bubba will perform on the big night.
“Shootout on the Brazos” will be held on May 3rd at Brazos River Sportsman’s Club. It begins with a clay shoot and is followed by dinner at Anthonie’s Market Grill. Then the music begins with a concert featuring BMI Hit Songwriter Bubba Strait, two-time Grammy Award Winner Jason Roberts, and Keyboardist John Michael Whitby from George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band If that weren’t enough, the event will feature both a live and silent auction which will include a Hart hunting rifle and other firearms; a ski in/ski out condo in Breckenridge, Colorado; an autographed George Strait guitar; and much more.
And what promises to be the most impactful part of the night is watching the foundation present an American hero keys to his or her own new home!
Guests may sponsor a team for the clay shoot, choose from one of the sponsorship levels, or just purchase individual tickets for the evening festivities. The number of teams is limited as is the seating for dinner, the concert and auction.
