Do you think our country is in need of prayer right now? Matthew 18:20 reminds us of God’s words regarding prayer: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
The Greater Houston Prayer Council, conceived in January, is giving you an opportunity to gather in His name. This Monday, October 19, from 6:33-8:33, The Gathering will take place with the message and mission that “His presence is our strategy.”
Stephanie Leggett, Director of Community Relations for the Great Southwest Prayer Center, said, “Our heart is to gather in prayer with our brothers and sisters across the Greater Houston region. We believe it begins with worship that leads to a posture of both personal and corporate repentance and prayer. God’s sustained presence is our goal, and a humble posture together is our strategy. The sustained presence of God is the only way to unite our hearts and bring the revival we long for.”
Due to Covid safety regulations, the gathering will be a virtual prayer and worship event that will encompass the entire metropolitan area of Houston. Leggett explained the reason for this event. “As we have gathered to ask God what He has for the Houston area, He has given us vision and mission to serve His people and His Kingdom, but we feel a tangible urgency to simply come together in prayer. I ask of all Houstonians, will you stand with us in unity and in Christ?”
