Zoe Cobb and Jess Taberner were named co-valedictorian for Faith West Academy Class of 2018, sharing a four-year GPA of 4.74. Zoe is the daughter of Jeff and Tiffany Cobb. Zoe excelled in the classroom where she took Advanced Placement and Honors courses, as well as participated in numerous extracurricular activities. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and the National Science Honor Society. Zoe was a member of the FFA and served as president her junior year. In sports she was on the varsity swim team. Her favorite Bible verse comes from Exodus 14:14; “The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
In the fall, Zoe will attend Texas A&M to major in biology. Jess, is the son of Nita & Mike Adam and Dave Taberner. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Science National Honor Society. He was also a member of the cross-country, track, soccer, and ComedySportz teams and was the manager for the swim team. His favorite verse comes from Micah 7:8; “Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.”
Jess will attend University of Texas to study mechanical engineering. Both Zoe and Jess exemplify the character and achieved the academic requirements that define them as outstanding 2018 graduating seniors of Faith West Academy. Commencement ceremonies for seventy-two graduating seniors will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, May 25th at Cross Point Community Church in Katy, Texas.
