Real Estate Business, The Crowning Glory Team, Shows Love of Christ to Clients
For three decades, The Crowning Glory real estate team has not only helped buyers and sellers find their dream homes, but they have also encouraged their clients with the Word of God and the love of Christ.
Today, the team’s founder, Glory Crafts, is ranked among the best realtors in the state and has seen generations of clients find happiness and peace through God-led transactions.
“Over the last few years I’ve been ranked as one of the five-star realtors (in Texas Monthly) in client satisfaction and appreciation,” Crafts said. “You have to be nominated for this ranking. A big part of achieving this goal is through customer relations and long-term relationships.”
In addition, Crafts is a Certified Luxury Home Specialist, has achieved Hall of Fame Status, and is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from Re/Max, which puts her in an elite group of realtors.
Craft, who grew up in Houston, has helped hundreds of clients in her 30 years of service, some who have become close friends and extended family.
“I’ve had some buyers that I’ve sold five of their homes,” she said. “And because I’ve been doing this so long I’ll have families where I’ve sold the parents’ house and now the kids are grown up and I’m selling them a house.”
Forming The Crowning Glory Team
Thirty years ago, The Crowning Glory Team founder, Glory Crafts, decided to leave her career as a special education teacher to work as a real estate agent.
“I wanted to have kids and wanted something with a little more flexibility,” Craft said. “[My real estate career] evolved from a part-time venture to full-time very quickly.”
As she took on more clients and a business partner—her husband, Wes—she decided that her business needed a name. Because of her strong faith in Christ and her “Heavenly”-sounding name, Crafts decided on The Crowning Glory Team.
“My logo is a cross embellished with a crown that symbolizes the crown of thorns,” she said. “This represents that God is the head of my team and me and my husband work under God. He is directing our path and showing us how we are supposed to lead our buyers and sellers.”
Even though Crafts was always passionate about displaying her faith, advertisers questioned her decision to let people know that she was a Christian.
“Part of my mission was to bring God and prayer into the workplace because when I started you didn’t really bring it into the workplace,” she said. “I even had advertisers ask if I was sure I wanted to put that into my ads. I told them that the people who see [my faith displayed] and want to do business with me are the ones I want to do business with.”
Crafts went a step further by including a Bible verse on her advertisements, real estate signs and business cards.
“I wanted to find Scripture that had my name in it,” she said. “Then I found John 11:40 that says, ‘If you believe, you will see the glory of God.’ It’s kind of saying that if you believe through the transaction that God’s going to guide us, then everything’s going to work out according to his plan.”
Setting themselves apart
Many times clients seek the help of The Crowning Glory Team after seeing their faith-themed advertisements and signs. But that doesn’t mean they don’t want to know why the team is different from other real estate businesses in the area.
“I’ve had people ask me, what sets you apart? Why should I choose you?” Crafts said. “I’m very open and say that my faith in God and letting God guide me makes me different.”
The certified luxury home specialist attributes her success in the real estate business to following God’s plan and putting him first.
“I can work just as hard as everyone else, but if God didn’t work through me, then I could be unsuccessful,” she said. “I know that God wants me to be successful because the more people I reach and show my faith, the more I can carry out His will.”
She said that she has even attracted clients of differing faiths to her business because of her strong convictions.
Love, kindness and encouragement
Over the years Crafts and her team have sold homes in every price range—from as low as $50,000 all the way up to $6 million. But, even though the clientele for each of these properties is different, the real estate team treats them all with the same love, kindness and encouragement.
“I make closing baskets for all of my clients. I always include a cross to bless their home. I let them know that God wants to guide them in their new home.”
Crafts also leaves surprises on the doorsteps of current and past clients during the holidays to let them know they are loved and thought of.
“At Easter I always deliver a cross to celebrate the true meaning of Easter, and at Christmas I usually give a beautiful cross ornament to honor our Lord and Savior’s Birthday and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas,” she said. “I get cute responses and emails saying, we never know what little surprises we’re going to get.”
The real estate agent and mother of two has such an effect on her clients that many of them have come back to God or become reacquainted with his teachings because of their interactions with Crafts and The Crowning Glory team.
“I’m very passionate about my business and what I do,” she said. “It’s not just my work, it’s my life. The real secret to my success in life, as well as business, is my strong faith in God”
