Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce to Host First ever Spring Clay Classic May 6

Mark your calendars! One family and faith friendly, highly energetic summer fundraiser you’ll sob if you miss is only nine days away.

Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first ever fundraiser on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Houston’s American Shooting Academy, and the concept is brilliant: clay-shooting.

“Everyone has a gala or a golf tournament. We strove to bring the community something different; something fresh and exciting. Thus, birthed clay-shooting, a unique fundraiser which addressed this need,” said Joseph Menslage, cofounder of Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce, a new and rapidly Christian Chamber.

Clay-shooting, also known as clay pigeon shooting, is a sport that involves shooting clay targets using a shotgun. This popular pastime is enjoyed by many people locally and is growing in popularity as a fundraising technique for local charities.

Players will shoot targets at ten stations laid out at American Shooting Centers in Bush Park, aiming for the highest possible score. Awards will be presented to the highest overall scores for the Individual (male and female), Faith Team and Business Team.

The first of its kind, this “come as you are,” “red white and boots” fundraiser is open to the public. It will also feature music, a variety of thrilling activities, raffles, games, door prizes, awards, an auction, networking opportunities and a hot lunch.

Proudly sponsored by Shottenkirk Nissan of Katy, this “inaugural” Faith and Business Clay Shoot has one mission: to keep faith in the workplace and in town square. This event will encourage our faith and business communities to come together in fellowship and in fun! Register ASAP to reserve your team and companion tickets today.

The KC3 Christian Chamber is requesting local support for what they hope will become an annual event. This “faith and business” clay-shooting event will bring our businesses, community leaders and nonprofit organizations together for one purpose: to work together as a team to hear and meet the needs of our community.

Teams of four are invited to register for $600, and individuals for $150, with non-shooter admission at the low price of $35. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses and organizations looking to support a great cause. All proceeds will benefit the KC3 Community Service Platform!

“Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce is the only Christian Chamber of Commerce in Texas. As with any organization, we are only as good as the members we have. Our members are outstanding, and we are excited to host our first fundraiser on May 6! The purpose of the chamber is to serve Christ through our businesses. Be a part of our shared vision,” Menslage said.

Bring your friends, colleagues and children, and kick off your summer with an invigorating event that supports a wonderful cause. Stand up for faith and values in the workplace.
