Christmas Tree Showcase Returns to Cane Island

Cane Island is kicking off the holiday season in grand style as the Katy community of new homes presents a must-see showcase of expertly decorated Christmas trees, each custom designed based on traditional and fun, whimsical themes.

Now through the end of December, Cane Island’s Christmas Tree Showcase features 13, sparkling, Instagram-worthy creations in the community’s showcase model homes, its Welcome Center and onsite restaurant, The Oaks Kitchen & Bar. This year’s themes include Santa’s Snowy Village, Ballerina Nutcracker, Santa’s Wine with Friends and Katy High School, among others.

“It’s one of our favorite times of the year,” says Lawren Eckhardt, Cane Island’s director of marketing.  “The reactions of those who see the trees are priceless.  It makes all the effort worthwhile.”

Admission is free with parking available at each model home, Cane Island’s Welcome Center and The Oaks Kitchen & Bar.

The holiday fun continues as Candy Cane Market with the Real Craftwives of Katy returns to Cane Island Saturday, December 4 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Holiday shoppers can browse from among 50+ local outdoor vendors presenting handcrafted jewelry, custom clothing and accessories, fun items for the home and other unique finds. Take a picture with Santa inside a life-sized snow globe, grab a bite to eat along with a sprit from The Oaks Kitchen & Bar, and more!

One of west Houston’s top-selling new home communities, Cane Island has opened five new sections of homesites representing one of its largest expansions since opening in 2015.

The new sections include popular 55, 60, 65 and 70-foot properties for single and two-story homes by Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes and Shea Homes. Move-in ready homes are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2022.

Cane Island also will soon boast an onsite Katy ISD elementary, currently under construction and scheduled to open in fall 2022, providing residents with a new school within walking distance of their neighborhoods. Families also attend nearby Katy Junior High and Katy High School.

To reach the Katy community of new homes, take the Cane Island Parkway exit off Interstate 10 minutes west of the Grand Parkway.  Head north on Cane Island Parkway and take the roadway directly into the community.

As the President and Publisher of Katy and Fort Bend Christian Magazines, Joe Menslage is committed to covering social and political news from a Christian worldview. He founded Katy Christian Magazine in 2005, which swept the greater Houston and Katy areas like a storm. That’s when Joe realized the urgent need for publications willing to give voices to the voiceless, without political correctness or censorship. Joe Menslage founded sister-publication Fort Bend Christian Magazine in 2014. Prior to creating Katy Christian Magazine, Joe Menslage led a colorful life. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, spent a great deal of his childhood in Colorado, and lived in a couple of other states before he moved to Houston in 1981.
