Nathan Andrews’ loving mother is terminally ill, yet he and his cash-strapped family are trying to live life to its fullest. Wealthy Robert Layton is a workaholic attorney on the brink of losing the sweet family he unwittingly neglects. Robert is long overdue for a wake-up call, which arrives when he crosses paths with Nathan on Christmas Eve. The Christmas Shoes is a tale of our shared humanity and a universal story of how the discovery of a power greater than us can shape, and even save, our lives.

Emmy-nominee Angela Ingersoll captures the voices of a dozen divas in a yuletide spectacular. “The actress with the astonishing voice” (Chicago Sun-Times) delivers a haunting Judy Garland, a proper Julie Andrews, a rockin’ Janis Joplin, and plenty of surprises! Ingersoll won acclaim starring as Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow (Chicago’s Jeff Award, LA Times Woman of the Year in Theatre) and Get Happy on PBS (Emmy Award nomination). Featuring a fantastic band, festive favorites include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Their two-person touring unit will perform on the Mainstage at The George Theater using simple sets and new multi-media projections.
