Learn How to Leverage Your Power as a Grandparent

If you’re a grandparent, you’re important in your grandchildren’s lives, and not just to spoil and shower them with love.

Grandparents actually carry quite a bit of influence when it comes to their grandchildren, so it’s important to be equipped with resources and information to help send your grandchildren into the world.

The Legacy Grandparenting Summit is a national grandparent conference that provides resources and education to Christians so they can “grandparent on purpose so our grandchildren and their grandchildren follow Christ.”  The vision of the Legacy Coalition is powerful:  to equip the 30 million Christian grandparents in North America to become spiritually intentional and wield their incredible influence in the lives of the youngest generations in our country.

No matter where you live, you can attend the conference from the comfort of your own home. It will be simulcast live from Birmingham, Alabama, to over 100 churches, including Westland Baptist, First Presbyterian Church, and West Houston Chinese Church. The Summit takes place on October 21 and 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Edna Conner, Event Organizer, said, “I am passionate about this conference and the potential of Christian grandparents to be intentional about leaving a legacy of faith. We grandparents have the potential influence to reach our entire world for Christ as we equip the next generation with the love of Christ.”

The two-day conference aims to help grandparents see that while the world tells you to spoil your grandchildren, Scripture says that you are called to a greater level of influence. “Teach them to your children and their children after them.” (Deuteronomy 4:9)

Topics will include Understanding the Biblical Role of Grandparents, Leaving a Generational Legacy, Helping our Grandchildren Develop a Biblical Worldview, Strengthening Relationships with your Adult Children, and Long Distance Grandparenting, to name just a few.

The Legacy Grandparenting Summit will feature speakers from various areas of expertise who will educate and entertain throughout the two days. These include David Green, Founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby; Valerie Bell, CEO of AWANA International; Comedian Ken Davis, and the musical group The Issacs, along with many more.

The cost for the conference is $59 and registration is online at legacycoalition.brushfire.com/Legacy-Grandparent-Summit-Simulcast/457833. If you would like to register directly at Westland Baptist Church, go to www.westland.cc/grandparents.
