Mike Khan, CEO and founder of Radio Dabang 99.5FM, is running for Commissioner of Fort Bend County, Precinct 4. A Republican and man of faith, Khan has lived in Fort Bend for the past 20 years and has decided that now is the time to give back.
“Fort Bend County has been so good to me and my kids. I raised my family here, developed my businesses and friendships here. I love Fort Bend County,” he said.
Khan’s website outlines his stance on the issues facing the county. He plans to “promote a pro-worker, pro-family agenda that gives our local business owners and workers the freedom to succeed and continue our region’s growth.”
“Our Commissioners Court needs to remain firm in the face of massive property appraisal increases and to resist the urge to maximize the tax rate every year. As someone who has run several successful businesses, [I] will be a voice of fiscal responsibility in managing our county’s budget.
Khan plans to use his 25 years in business to instill leadership into the role of County Commissioner. “I believe I am uniquely qualified to lead operations, manage budgets and oversee spending for County operations managed by the office,” he said. And he believes it all comes down to accountability, “something that is sorely missed in Precinct 4. “The number one issue facing Precinct 4 is the absence of leadership. I’ll actively be in the office, taking calls and solving problems.”
He finds spending to be particularly egregious within this precinct. “Look at all the taxpayer money that is being spent that does not directly benefit the taxpayers! It’s outrageous. It’s time to focus on that. Have you seen the hundreds of thousands of dollars given to left-wing groups? This must and will end when I’m elected to the position.”
If that does happen, Khan has a plan. “A Republican majority on the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court will send taxpayer dollars back to law enforcement and firefighters. We’ll be ending the partisan payoffs and begin focusing on the essential workers of Fort Bend County.”
Khan firmly believes in bringing his faith principles with him to the office. “I proudly stand with those who embrace the Lord’s word. Our common bond will make Fort Bend County’s Precinct 4 a much better and safer place to live and work. God Bless Texas!”
