KATY CARES Appoints New Members to Board of Directors

Katy Cares, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2016 as a solution-driven response to Katy‘s most vulnerable population – single mothers and children who are victims of trauma due to a traumatic and life-altering event, gladly announces the appointment of new Board Members. The elected members are all esteemed business leaders in the greater Katy community and were elected to serve alongside current members who are committed to ensure the sustainability of our organization.

Mary Watts-Todd with Mary Watts Group at EXP Realty has been a strong supporter of and has been involved with Katy Cares since its inception on many levels. As a woman that experienced situational homelessness as a young adult, she is passionate about carrying the message of hope to others that have experienced hardships. Her dedication to help single mothers and children participating in our Program, and other parentsingle-parent families in our community, has impacted multiple lives. Mary is a role model and an inspiration for others that have experienced trauma in their lives.

In June of 2020, Mary married Daniel Todd. Daniel spent 30 years in the United States Marine Corps serving his country. After his retirement, he served many charities in different capacities searching for the right opportunity and organization to partner with. Daniel Todd and Mary Watts-Todd are committed to serving our community and are excited about their new partnership with Katy Cares. With a passion to help others, resources to provide assistance to those in need, and a commitment to Katy Cares, they are excited about what the future holds and ready to share their unique lessons of survival. Both share a common commitment to use their resources to help others in the community.

Katy Cares welcomes Mary Watts-Todd to the Board of Directors of Katy Cares. Daniel Todd will serve on the Advisory Board.

Joseph Menslage

As the President and Publisher of Katy and Fort Bend Christian Magazines, Joe Menslage is committed to covering social and political news from a Christian worldview. He founded Katy Christian Magazine in 2005, which swept the greater Houston and Katy areas like a storm. That’s when Joe realized the urgent need for publications willing to give voices to the voiceless, without political correctness or censorship. Joe Menslage founded sister-publication Fort Bend Christian Magazine in 2014. Prior to creating Katy Christian Magazine, Joe Menslage led a colorful life. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, spent a great deal of his childhood in Colorado, and lived in a couple of other states before he moved to Houston in 1981. Joe was God-gifted with an entrepreneurial mind, and self-started other business ventures before he found his calling. In Joe’s words, our innate talents are given by the Lord, and are meant to be used to serve the Lord. Aside from being a President and Publisher, Joe Menslage is also the co-founder of Katy Christian Chamber of Commerce, where Christians can network, build business connections, listen to passionate speakers, and enjoy monthly breakfasts and lunches. Joe Menslage also hosts a weekly political satire YouTube channel. Joe Menslage has four children. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, watching zombie movies and K dramas, ax-throwing and Krav Maga.
