Dr. Valeria Musetti has lived in the Katy/Richmond area since 2002 and found Katy a great place to raise her family and start her career. Dr.Musetti is very passionate in what she does and believes if you choose to do something you love, you will never have to work a day in your life.
Through living by that motto and showing such compassion for her staff and patients she is leaving her mark on the hearts of everyone and making Katy a better place, one smile at a time.
From a young age, Dr. Musetti knew she wanted to serve others through health services as her career. Both of her parents are physicians. She saw firsthand what kind of impact they made on the lives of others through their work.
“I grew up seeing my parents always helping people,” Dr. Musetti said. “Either by attending to their patients or helping their patients get the resources they needed and access to healthcare. They were a great inspiration for our family, and inspired me to help others.”
Dr. Musetti moved from Ecuador to the United States at the age of seventeen after being accepted to attend college at Michigan State University, where she met her husband Carlos Musetti. After graduating college with a bachelor’s in microbiology and genetics, Dr. Musetti and her husband moved closer to his family in Texas where she then decided dentistry is the way she would serve in the health services field. She was accepted to The University of Texas Dental Branch, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
While in dental school, Dr. Musetti and her husband welcomed their first child. She knew she wanted to have a career that allowed her to be there for her growing family while also allowing her to be a working professional. She found the perfect fit at Kingsland Dental Group, where she later became the owner in 2012.
“We are very passionate in what we do,” Dr. Musetti said. “Making our patients our top priority is something we take pride in.”
Dr. Musetti was determined to make the transition of ownership as smooth as possible for her patients and staff while incorporating new ideas and changes for the practice.
A unique part of Kingsland Dental Group is their staff and their diverse cultural backgrounds. The Katy community is constantly growing and is becoming a multicultural city. With such a diverse group of women, they are able to serve Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Pilipino speaking patients.
“It’s comforting to our patients to have someone who can communicate and explain their dental care with them in their own language,” Dr. Musetti said. “It is very important to be able to serve our patients in this way.”
Additionally, they all have varying dentistry specialties to take care of their patients all within the same practice and building. These include a pediatric dentist, endodontist, and a cosmetic dentistry specialist.
“We try to provide our patients with the highest quality of dentistry that we can,” Dr. Musetti said. “We keep up with the latest technologies and are always looking for ways we can do things better for our patients.”
As a staff of all women, Dr. Musetti said they understand the challenges of caring for small children while being a working professional. Which is why Kingsland Dental Group provides an in-office babysitter for their patients and sometimes their staff.
Personally, being a mom is something Dr. Musetti enjoys the most out of her life. When she isn’t practicing dentistry or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her four children and husband. They enjoy living an active lifestyle, watching movies, and traveling.
“My family and I enjoy spending quality time together,” Dr. Musetti said. “We try to do as many family activities as we can on our time off.”
Throughout her career, Dr. Musetti has dedicated her time and effort to give back and improve the lives of those in the Katy community. She also values the importance of mentoring young and inspiring dentists by allowing college students to shadow her.
Over the years, she has supported a variety of charitable, sports and community causes. Just recently, Kingsland Dental Group held a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness where Dr. Musetti matched every dollar donation.
Dr. Musetti views owning a business as more than just a career it is also a ministry. She runs her business in a way that serves her staff and patients well. Her faith largely impacts this business model and culture.
“Making a positive difference is never about the recognition,” Dr. Musetti said. “You shouldn’t expect anything in return, you should do it because you want to truly help others.”
When entering Kingsland Dental Group, patients can expect to feel welcomed and at home. That is something Dr. Musetti will always continue, while also incorporating new and modern technology to help keep the office up to date.
“It has been a blessing to have a loyal patient pool that has been with us for so long,” Dr. Musetti said. “We look forward to continuing to serve them and the growing Katy community.”
