Since its beginning in January, 2016, World Theater has presented and sponsored a variety of events including:
- Katy’s Got Talents along with an Art Exhibition featuring local artists.
- A Jazzy Jazz concert with an overseas troupe of musicians direct from China.
- The Longest running off Broadway musical:
- “Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.”
- The Hip Hop Musical, “Don’t Kick Me, Kiss Me.”
- The Summer Camp Production of “Into The Woods Jr.”
- World Theater Sponsored “Mrs. Earth” by BYN Vietnamese television.
- World Theater Sponsored “ J & H” Dance School” Showcase
- Completed six World Theater Summer Camps (each lasting for two weeks). The Summer camps featured: Ballet, Musical Theater, and Creative Mind Development.
Executive and Artistic Director, Mr. Burton Wolfe, is very grateful for the World Theater Advisory Board’s support, as well as its show performers, volunteers, patrons, parents and the media. Community support has made it possible for World Theater to offer its first 2016 – 2017 “Broadway Musical Series.”
Burton Wolfe believes: “Broadway Musicals are not only entertaining, but offer true moral values and positive messages that are very much needed today… Along with the wonderful new technology we all enjoy, some of our lives have become so much busier – and even robot like. Live Theater can bring back compassionate communication.” Mr. Wolfe really appreciates the performing arts organizations and schools in Katy which promote the arts. “World Theater is here to support all of our schools and organizations involved with the performing arts and special events that promote our community.
The 2016 – 2017 Broadway Musical Series includes: West Side Story, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, Sister Act and Miss Saigon (School Edition).
