Tangible Difference Learning Center (TDLC) was founded in 2005 by Michael Conteh, M.A, B.C.B.A. After initially only offering in-home therapy, TDLC has grown to a 17,000 sq. ft. center off of Highway 290 and opened their newest 8,000 sq. ft. center in Katy off of S. Fry Road.
The Mission
TDLC provides Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Socials Skills, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy, primarily to children on the Autism Spectrum. TDLC is proud to be one of the largest ABA providers in Houston to date as well as a company with innovative technology and progressive treatments.
According to the Center on Disease Control March 2014 Report, 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder* and there is no known cause or cure. People with ASD handle information in their brain much differently and have challenges with social, communication, and behavior. Because it is a “spectrum” disorder, ASD can affect individuals in much different ways- ranging from mild to severe. Typically, the signs and symptoms of Autism occur when a child is about 3 years old; in some cases, children appear to develop normally until 18-24 months and then stop gaining new skills and/or lose the skills they once had.
Therapy and Individualized Plans
At TDLC, hope is never lost! TDLC will work with parents and caregivers on individualized plans that will help their child can become the best versions of themselves. Most insurance coverage is accepted, and when there is not a wait list clients can begin therapy in approximately 2-3 weeks. Currently, the center does not provide diagnostic services, but has relationships with many exemplary providers who can assist with that aspect.
