William Jones and Jarren Brown were named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of Faith West Academy Class of 2011.
The valedictorian, Will, is the son of David and Karen Jones. Will excelled in the classroom where he took Advanced Placement and Honors courses and had a four year GPA of 4.74, as well as participated in numerous extracurricular activities. In competitive sports he was on the cross country, swimming and ComedySportz teams. He was a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish Club, International Club and played an integral part of the technical staff for the school’s theatre department.
In the fall, William will attend Baylor University to major in bioinformatics, so he may later attend medical school to become a doctor.
The salutatorian, Jarren, is the son of Bob and Sandy Brown. Jarren was enrolled in Advanced Placement and Honors classes during his high school career and received an overall GPA of 4.73. In competitive sports he was on the football, basketball and swimming teams. He was a member of the National Honor Society (president during his senior year), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Mu Alpha Theta and the International Club.
Jarren will attend Mary Hardin-Baylor in the fall to major in biology, so he may later attend medical school to become a pediatrician.
Both Will and Jarren exemplify the character and achieved the academic requirements that define them as outstanding 2011 graduating seniors of Faith West Academy. Commencement ceremonies for fifty-seven graduating seniors will be held June 4th at the First Baptist Church in Katy, Texas.
