Rebecca Volkers
Classification: 8th Grade
School: Memorial Lutheran
Rebecca Volkers is an 8th grade student at Memorial Lutheran School, where she has attended for 12 years. Volkers is an active member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church.
Outside of class, Volkers is a member of the school’s volleyball and Bible Bowl teams and an honor student. She is also an avid flute player and has played since she was in the 5th grade. Volkers has participated in TAPPS solo and ensemble competition receiving a Division I Superior rating.
She has also participated in the Academic Quest at Lutheran High North where she was the overall 7th grade winner last year in the small school division.
Volkers will attend Lutheran High North next school year and plans to later attend Texas A&M where she would like to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine, hopefully in equine medicine.
Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:1-3.
Peyton Lamendola
Classification: Senior
School: Faith West Academy
If you have ever wondered what it is like to stand in line with more than 10,000 hopefuls for the musical reality competition American Idol, Faith West Academy senior Peyton Lamendola can tell you. Peyton braved four hours in sweltering temperatures last August just to get a wristband to vie for a spot on the first round of Austin auditions. Two days later, that wristband allowed her entry into the audition venue, where she waited nearly 7 hours before it was her turn.
With several credits to her name through AD Players and FWA, including the female lead in Faith West Academy’s production It’s a Wonderful Life, Peyton has earned her place as a star.
Peyton, a member of BridgePoint Bible Church, claims 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 as her favorite verses to remind her of the characteristics and accomplishments of true love.
After graduation Peyton hopes to attend Baylor University to pursue her interests of music and theatre.
Michael McCreight
Classification: 8th Grade
School: First Baptist Academy
Michael McCreight is an 8th grade student at First Baptist Academy. He is the President of Student Council; he is on the National Junior Honor Society, participates in football, basketball, track & field, and plays the trombone in the band.
Michael would like to study engineering or architecture in the future.
When Michael is not studying or playing sports, he enjoys building Legos and playing computer games.
His favorite scripture is Proverbs 10:4.
