Angela Collins Announces Candidacy for FBISD Board of Trustees, Position 3

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — Angela Collins, a long-time resident of Meadows Place and active community volunteer, has announced her candidacy for the Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) Board of Trustees, Position 3.

Collins, a mother of three and grandmother, has lived in Fort Bend County for nearly 40 years. During that time, she has developed what she describes as “deep roots in the community” through extensive volunteer work and leadership roles.

“I have always lived my life as a servant leader,” Collins said. “Over the past four years, I’ve dedicated my time to Fort Bend ISD’s special needs program for children in foster care, ensuring they receive the resources and support they need to thrive.”

In addition to her work with the district’s special needs programs, Collins serves as Treasurer for Dulles High School’s Future Farmers of America and has participated in various district committees. She previously spent seven years on an elementary Parent-Teacher Organization board, including three years as President.

During her time on the PTO, Collins said she faced significant challenges, particularly during the pandemic.

“We turned a significant budget deficit into over $100,000 raised for our school,” she noted, adding that securing a literacy grant for the school’s ESL department remains one of her proudest accomplishments.

Collins previously supported another candidate during the last election but said she feels the time is right to step into a leadership role herself.

“Despite the unexpected challenges I have faced, I am more determined than ever to continue advocating for our children’s future,” Collins said.

If elected, Collins plans to focus on key issues such as fiscal responsibility, transparency, and closing achievement gaps.

“I am committed to ensuring every child in FBISD receives a quality education,” she said. “I believe every voice matters, and I want parents to know I have been in their shoes and will be on their side.”

The FBISD Board of Trustees election for Position 3 will take place later this year.
